RALLY TEST RULES AND PENALTIES

 

 

 

1. The event will start at 10.00am.  All competitors should be signed on by 9.30. It is expected to be complete by 16.30

 

2. All cars must carry a crew of two people at all times on the tests. Entries will be accepted for double drives but no car may complete with more than two drivers. The entry may be divided into appropriate classes.

 

3. Any four wheeled road type car is eligible. It must be equipped with two secure seats, seat belts must be worn if fitted. The organisers reserve the right to prevent any car from starting or continuing if they consider it to be unsafe, unsuitable or to be making to much noise.

 

4. Competitors will be issued with test diagrams narratives time cards and untimed tests at signing on, or during the course of the event. Walking of the tests is not allowed in the interests of safety or the spirit of the event.

 

5. Upon showing the start marshal the appropriate completed untimed test a time will be entered on the time card, they will then instruct you by verbal signals when to start the test. Please note this can be less than 30 seconds be prepared.

 

6. Please note that it is the responsibility of the competitor to be on time.  Make sure the correct car number is clearly displayed on the car and ensure that the paper work is in order before starting the test.

 

7. There is a bogey time (minimum) for each test of 2mins.  There will be no advantage in beating this time.  Times will be rounded to nearest 5 seconds.  There will also be maximum penalty for each test of 6 mins.

 

8. Points and penalties are incurred as follows :-

A. Each second spent on the test                                 1 second

B. False start    (F S)                                                    20 seconds

C. Failure to collect code number                               maximum

D. Hitting or going the wrong side of a cone  (X)         10 seconds each       

E. Wrong route               (W R)                                     maximum             

F. Not attempting test   (N A)                                        maximum

G. Failure to stop astride  (S A)                                    20 seconds

 

                                Penalties explained

 

F S  False start is when vehicle crosses start line before time.

 

X  Cone hit or uncorrected wrong side of cone is when the vehicle hits a cone or goes past it on the wrong side and does not go back to correct.

 

N A  Not attempting test is when the vehicle does not attempt part or all of the test.

 

W R  Wrong route is when the vehicle does not follow the correct route for 3 or more cones.

 

S A  Stop astride fault is when a vehicle wheels are not either side of the line

 

9. This is a fun event and not to be taken too seriously, protests and arguments are not considered to be in the spirit of the event.
