We have run a Club Rally championship for several years based on all rallies in which members compete.  However, it is necessary that you claim points after competing in an event, I cannot know which events you all compete in, and neither do I necessarily get the results.

This year, I have had no claims at all, although I know that quite a few of you are doing events regularly.  As a result, and to try to get things going again, we are waiving rule 5 below for the time being.  I will now accept claims for any events done since 1st December 2009 for this year’s championship.  So dig out those results and let me have them, so hopefully we can get a championship table going for next month’s magazine.

 

The Salisbury & Shaftesbury CC Rally Championship is open to all members who compete in any rallies from 12 car to International.  There are two categories, Drivers and Navigators.  Points scored in one seat will not count towards a position in the opposite seat if you drive and navigate during the season.

 

  1. Any paid up member of Salisbury & Shaftesbury Car Club may claim points for competing in any rally held between 1st December 2009 and 30th November 2010.
  2. There will be two championships, one for drivers and one for navigators/co-drivers.
  3. Points will be scored on the overall position achieved on each event, regardless of classes and will be calculated as follows;-  Total number of starters minus numerical position plus 1 = Score.  i.e. if there are 50 starters and you are 10th you get              50-10+1=41points.  If you fail to finish you get 1 point.
  4. Competitors can count a maximum of 6 scores in the year; if a competitor does more than 6 events he only counts his 6 best scores.                                                                                                           
  5. Claims must be made in writing by post or email to Dick Appleton within 3 weeks of the finish of an event with a copy of starters list and results sufficient to calculate points due.  A crew of two, driver and navigator may make a single points claim, Dick Appleton may at his discretion calculate points earned by other S&SCC members included in the results submitted but this cannot be guaranteed, he may miss you.  To be sure of points, make your own claim.
  6. All claims must be submitted by 30th November 2010 notwithstanding 5 above to ensure time for arrangements to be made for the prizegiving at the Christmas Dinner.
  7. Scores will be published in Full Chat each month and any queries are to be raised with the Dick Appleton immediately.
  8. Any inconsistencies or queries that arise from these rules will be settled by Dick Appleton and published in Full Chat.  His editor’s decision is final.

 

Now get those claims rolling.  There are plenty of members competing to make an interesting championship.
